Bacteria thrive in warm, moist foods - particularly those containing protein.

Bacteria multiply by dividing into 2 - they can do this every 20 minutes!

Symptoms of food poisoning - diarrhoea, pain, vomiting. This can start between 2 hours and 2 day of eating contaminated food - or immediately if it is bad enough.

Treatment - babies need attention quickly as they soon become dehydrated - older after 24 hours if they are not recovering.
